# Overview

`AI_COVENANT.md` sets the norms for AI use in this repository. Its core principle: everything you contribute is yours, whatever tools helped create it. You are responsible for understanding it, verifying it, defending it in review, and meeting the project's standards.

- **Reviews.** AI review tools provide automated quality checks, not human reviews. Their comments are suggestions, a pull request owner may close them without response, and a pull request still needs human approval.
- **Discussions.** AI tools may help you prepare, but AI systems must not directly post comments, replies or messages in GitHub issues or discussions, shared Slack channels, or mailing lists and email threads.
- **Disclosure.** Disclose AI origin when proposing a fix to code you do not fully understand. Routine AI use needs no disclosure, and AI co-authorship in commit messages is actively discouraged.

`CONTRIBUTING.md` adds that an agent may not take part in discussion on your behalf.
